Exercise & Eating Healthy: Why BOTH is Important!

For many people, health and fitness can be a HUGE daunting task to conquer. IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE. Although getting back in shape can be challenging at times, it doesn’t have to be complicated. Here at HIT Fit, our goal is to provide a game plan for you so you can take the guesswork out of fitness! As humans, we know there are two important things to health: Exercise & Nutrition!

Many people are confused on how to approach these two elements and how they work together! That’s why HIT Fit offers the training as well as the nutrition required to reach your goals. Let’s lay out just a few helpful tips on why BOTH healthy eating AND exercise are important in any fitness program! 

  1. Energy Expenditure 

The first most important reason why you need both exercise and healthy eating is to manage energy intake and output. Okay, let’s go over this without all the science terms. Both eating and exercise are needed to manage the energy in your body. For example, if you are trying to lose body fat, but are not dieting, you may be eating back the caloric value of what you burned during exercise, which can negate the weight loss benefits of exercise. If losing body fat is the goal, you want to make sure that you are not cancelling out the calories you burned by poor food choices.

  1. Proper Nutrition 

“So all I need to do is optimize my calories?” That’s part of it BUT not all of it! Another important factor is to make sure you are getting the correct nutrition and macronutrients for your goals! If you are managing your calories but not seeing how much protein, carbs, or fats you are eating, you could be neglecting one over the other.

All macronutrients have their role in fitness and weight loss so it’s important to have an understanding on the nutritional content of certain foods. Again, a nutrition program will help get rid of the confusion and create a plan for you that is easy to follow! We’ll let you know how many calories you should be eating and what those calories should be made of! 

  1. Not JUST weight, but HEALTH!

Exercise plays a role in fitness that nutrition alone cannot fill. Proper and frequent exercise can improve cardiovascular health, maintain lean muscle mass, prevent joint and muscle damage, and improve mood!

Exercise isn’t always just about losing fat and gaining muscle, but being an overall healthy human being! If you have nagging injuries, an appropriate exercise program can help correct these orthopedic issues and prevent future ones! A semi-Private training program allows a trainer to spend more one-on-one time with clients so they receive proper correction of form and intensity!
